'Gossip Girl' Actress Found Safe Following Missing Person Report

Chanel Maya Banks, known for guest spots on Gossip Girl and Blue Bloods, was found safe after her family reported that she hadn't been seen or heard from since late October.

Law enforcement told TMZ that the 36-year-old had been found safe shortly after news of her disappearance broke, revealing that she is uninjured and that foul play is not suspected.

Banks was formally reported as a missing person on Nov. 8, just over a week after the 36-year-old's family last heard from her on Oct. 30. Her cousin, Danielle-Tori Singh, and mother, Judy Singh, flew across the country to look for her, finding that, while her "phone went off the grid," her car, dog, and the rest of her belongings—other than her laptop—had all been left behind in her Playa Vista apartment.

Her cousin previously told local news KTLA that, while she never expected her first trip to the western state to be to search for her family member, she was "not going to leave California until [she] find[s her] cousin."

Police conducted four separate welfare checks on Banks earlier this month but were unable to make contact with her at that time.

According to her family, Banks has been married for just over a year, but her husband was not cooperative during the investigation.

In the description of a GoFundMe fundraiser launched by her family to help fund their search, they claimed Banks' husband had "a busted lip and marks and scratches on his neck and arms" on Nov. 10—injuries they say he did not have when police conducted their last welfare check on Nov. 7.

Per their report, he refused to provide any information about Banks' location, telling them “she does not want to be found, she will reach out when she’s ready.”

It's still unknown at this time where Banks was during her absence.
