Golden Globe Nominee Joey King Is Nearly Unrecognizable in New Photos Debuting Major Change to Appearance

Joey King tried out a drastic new beauty trend that has fans divided, with some calling the look a "stunning" "power move"—and others questioning "why" she made the change at all.

The 25-year-old actress took to Instagram on Sunday, Jan. 5, to share a series of photos featuring her newly bleached eyebrows.

In the first shot, King posed on a balcony wearing a yellow-and-white satin jacket. Her hair was wavy and loose, and she held a small black bag in one hand. The second snap showed King in the same outfit, standing next to actress Ryan Destiny, while the third photo was a selfie that gave viewers a closer look at her eyebrows.

King's famous friends gushed about her appearance.

"🔥🔥," wrote Natasha Lyonne.

"Rude to look this good without eyebrows," joked Sabrina Carpenter.

"You look damn good," declared Queer Eye's Tan France.

"You look so damn good!" raved another fan.

Not everybody was on board with King's nearly invisible brows, however.

"The no eyebrow thing creeps me the F out 😳," one person admitted.

"Ma’am where are your eyebrows??" someone else wanted to know.

Noah Cyrus came to King's defense, writing, "Everyone please shut the f--k up for once in your lives. she look THE F--K good," she wrote.

Of course, King is far from the first celeb to give platinum brows a try. In December, Lisa Rinna's 26-year-old daughter, Delilah Belle Hamlin, showed off her bleached eyebrows at a Billie Eilish concert. Meanwhile, Lady Gaga unveiled her ultra-pale brows in a selfie shared on Instagram last March. Kylie Jenner and Vanessa Hudgens have also experimented with the trend.
