“Golden Bachelorette” host Jesse Palmer reacts to Joan and Pascal's break-up
The host also shares his thoughts on Joan's decision to remove beds from the Fantasy Suites.
Each week during The Golden Bachelorette, host Jesse Palmer will answer a few questions about Joan's "journey" to find "love." Today, Jesse shares his thoughts via email about Joan's changes to the Fantasy Suite dates, his emotional conversation with Pascal, and more.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Joan really took control of her journey this week by making Fantasy Suites about emotional intimacy rather than physical intimacy. What did you think of her decision to make that change?
JESSE PALMER: Fantasy Suites mean different things to different people. Joan decided to focus on what was important to her, and I commend her for that.

First, Joan and Guy swam with literal sharks, and then Joan and Chock zipped through the jungle on ATVs! Why is this show trying to give me a heart attack by sending these Golden gems on such thrill-seeking dates, Jesse?
I think all three are young at heart, adventurous, and thrill-seeking. I’m here for it!
Your conversation with Pascal was so intensely emotional and heartbreaking. What were you feeling in that moment as he was pouring his heart out to you?
I think a lot of people judge Pascal, but the Pascal I know has overcome a lot of adversity in his life. He’s a good example of why we should never judge a book by its cover.

In your opinion, do you think the bonding ceremony really pushed Pascal to the realization that he wasn't the right guy for Joan — or do you think that he would have come to that conclusion no matter what they did on their date?
I think they simply needed more time, and regardless of what they did on their date, it would not have changed the outcome.
Finally, next week is Men Tell All! Give us a preview of what we can expect. (And how many boxes of tissues we should have on hand.)
I can’t wait to hang out with this funny, sensitive, and caring group of men again. Their love and support for Joan and each other will be on full display — so pack your tissues accordingly!
