Also nominated in the Best Country Album category were Post Malone’s F-1 Trillion, Chris Stapleton’s Higher, Lainey Wilson’s Whirlwind, and Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter.

As we know now, Cowboy Carter was ultimately awarded the Best Country Album Grammy, making Beyoncé the first Black artist to win in this category.

After appearing incredibly shocked when her name was called out, Beyoncé took to the stage and delivered a powerful acceptance speech.

“I think sometimes 'genre' is a code word to keep us in our place as artists,” she said. “I just want to encourage people to do what they're passionate about.”

But now, Kacey has addressed all the buzz through her representative, clarifying that she did not “scowl” or make any kind of pointed facial expression.

“It’s a sensationalistic, false narrative meant to pit two talented female artists against each other,” Kacey’s rep told E! News.
