Gayle King Goes Bold in Furry Green Outerwear for Netflix’s ‘The Six Triple Eight’ Screening
Gayle King was spotted in SoHo on Monday evening, attending Netflix’s screening of “The Six Triple Eight” at the Crosby Hotel. The TV host came out to support her longtime friend Oprah Winfrey, who makes a cameo appearance in the film directed by Tyler Perry.
King wore a bold ensemble consisting of a mid-length blue dress paired with a statement green faux fur coat. The open-front coat featured a relaxed silhouette accentuated by plush lapels. Beneath the coat, the blue dress offered a sleek contrast, fitted through the body and falling just below the knee. To accessorize, King added a faux fur navy scarf draped around her neck, adding texture to the outfit. She completed her look with black pointed-toe slingback pumps featuring a stiletto heel. King also sported blue-framed glasses and carried a striped multicolored clutch, which added a subtle pop of pattern.

Perry’s “The Six Triple Eight” tells the story of the 6888th Battalion, the first all-Black, all-female unit that served in the Army during World War II. Tasked with addressing the backlog of mail to American soldiers in Europe, the women of the 6888th worked tirelessly under challenging conditions to ensure morale-boosting correspondence reached its destination. Winfrey appears in the film alongside an ensemble cast highlighting the battalion’s contributions to military history.
King has consistently embraced bold colors in her wardrobe, a style choice she showcased in September during the “Coriolanus” after party at the National Theatre in London. Attending the event alongside Winfrey, King opted for a striking metallic red and purple striped dress by Rabanne.
