“Frasier” Revival Not Moving Forward with Another Season at Paramount+ — Prompting Show to Try and Find a New Home
The revival series concluded its second season in 2024
The Frasier revival isn’t returning to Paramount+.
The series — which saw Kelsey Grammer reprise his iconic role of Dr. Frasier Crane — will not be picked up by the streaming service for a third season, PEOPLE can confirm.
Originally produced by CBS Studios, the show will be shopped around to other networks to find a new home two months after its second season concluded.
The Frasier revival followed Crane as he returned to Boston to work at Harvard in order to get closer to his son Freddy Crane (Jack Cutmore-Scott). It also starred Toks Olagundoye and Peri Gilpin.
Representatives for Grammer did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on the news.

The Frasier revival aired its first season in October 2023, nearly 30 years after the debut of the original 1993 sitcom, which was a spinoff of the popular sitcom Cheers.
Grammer appeared on Today with Hoda & Jenna in February 2023, when he teased the growth of his character from the original series to now, explaining that he is now “a little bit more mature."

"He's got a little more wisdom about him, but he's a little bit silly and takes certain things more seriously than most people do,” he continued. “That's his character. And it's been really fun to play him again."
The show’s second season, which kicked off in September 2024, saw the character return to his hometown of Seattle — the location of the original show — and reconnect with some familiar faces from the original series, including Bebe Glazer (Harriet Sansom Harris), Bulldog (Dan Butler) and Gil Chesterton (Edward Hibbert).

Ahead of the season 2 premiere, Frasier showrunners Joe Cristalli and Chris Harris opened up about the potential for Cheers characters to potentially make an appearance in future seasons of the show.
“One area is that we haven't yet taken advantage of the fact that Frasier is back in Boston, and that is where Cheers took place,” Harris told Screenrant in an interview. “So there's a whole group of characters. Obviously, Bebe was part of that, and Lilith, but we'd love for Frasier to run into somebody along the way at some point.”
“There's several people that we would love, and honestly, it's just finding the right story for some of these folks and making sure the schedules line up,” Cristalli added. “But ideally, we'll get everyone we want from the original and Cheers. There's so many people we haven't seen yet. I don't even know if I could pick a favorite. There's so many options.”
The first two seasons of Frasier are available to stream on Paramount+.
