FBoy Island's Molly reveals how she organised major finale bombshell

EXCLUSIVE: Molly breaks down the reality show's epic final episode.

Viewers are calling the final episode of FBoy Island the greatest reality TV ending they’ve ever seen after leading lady Molly O’Halloran dropped a major bombshell on her finalist Vernon Lyon.

After having suspicions about his intentions and whether or not he was lying about his last relationship, Molly contacted his ex-girlfriend Brogan - who confirmed rumours he had dumped her to go on the show.

Vernon was left stunned when Brogan walked into the villa and confronted him, with Molly announcing that she would be giving her a portion of the $50,000 prize money she and her winner Nick Brown received.

Speaking with Yahoo Lifestyle about the jaw-dropping moment, Molly says she first thought of the idea to contact Brogan during the ‘Mansplaining’ session when Vernon revealed her name.

“With a bit of an obscure name like ‘Brogan’, it wasn't too hard to track her down,” she shares.

“Since we already had access to the boys’ social media I asked the producers, ‘Can I borrow a laptop or a phone?’. I got on, searched ‘Brogan’ in his followers and up she came, so I messaged her via Instagram. She was more than happy to have a chat with me which was fantastic and honestly helped to shed a lot of light on the situation and to prove a pretty good point.”

Although Brogan was “a little bit worried” about the public would perceive her for calling out Vernon, Molly was glad she agreed to appear on the show to teach him a valuable lesson in respecting women.

“I think she was more than happy to have a chat with me, to begin with, because I think she'd been kind of duped as well,” she adds. “So she was happy to kind of look out for the girls and let me know what had been going on.”

Brogan’s cameo certainly wasn’t the only surprise Molly co-ordinated this season, with the 27-year-old bringing back her first eliminated contestant and eventual winner Nick midway through filming.

Molly explains that the show’s producers allowed her to invite Nick back to the villa simply because she didn’t feel a connection with any of the other men.

“I was like, ’Is there any chance I can get Nick back?’,” she recalls. “I didn't know that ‘Nice Guy Grotto’ was a thing at that time, and that it wasn't that far away.

“I begged and pleaded and I mean, if I wasn't allowed him back, I'm sure I would have touched base with him after the show anyway. But I'm very glad I was allowed to.”

Four months on from filming the final episode, Molly and Nick are currently in a long-distance relationship with plans to move in together in the near future.

“It's been really nice to get to know Nick without a camera in my face and get to know the ins and outs of him as a person, rather than the very kind of surface-level chat that you have on the show,” she details.

“We’re going on a bit of a trip together in January and then potentially using some of the money to relocate. I've been keeping my eye out for jobs in Sydney - hopefully, I haven't ruined my chance at a reputable career. But keen to definitely be closer to Nick.”

Molly adds that while she hasn’t been in contact with controversial contestant Caleb Duncan after hearing the derogatory comments he made about her, she has spoken with Vernon since the show.

“He’s pretty easygoing to begin with so he was okay with the situation,” she says. “I kind of chatted things through so we're on okay terms, no hard feelings on either side there. But as for Caleb, I have no real interest in chatting to him.”
