Farmer Wants A Wife’s Sam farewells both finalists in shock twist

After getting invested in Farmer Wants A Wife for just over three weeks, viewers were shocked when Farmer Sam decided to send both of his final two girls home.

The 25-year-old chose to say goodbye to oncology nurse Mackenzie and student nurse Allanah in part one of the series finale as he couldn’t see them as anything more than friends.

Ahead of the group’s black-tie dinner, the five farmers caught up to discuss their feelings heading into the event.

Farmer Sam admitted that he wasn’t sure how serious he was about either of his finalists, saying: “I just don’t know where my head is at at the moment.

“I’m just not sure if I should go and meet their families,” he added. “They did say I have to be 100 per cent committed to meet their family.”

Sam sat down to dinner with his ladies later in the evening to answer any tough questions Mackenzie and Allanah had for him.

After Allanah candidly asked Sam if he thought he was ready for a relationship, he bluntly avoided answering by saying “next question”.

This only prompted the 24-year-old to dig even deeper, saying that she and Mackenzie “deserve some answers”.

“Be honest, that’s the most courageous thing you could do,” she said. “Do you see a future with either of us?”

Sam was clearly frustrated with the situation and decided to leave the room.

He eventually returned to his bachelorettes, announcing that “it’s time for me to lay out all the cards on the table and tell the girls how I’m feeling.”

Joined by Mackenzie and Allanah outside of the restaurant, Sam spoke about his struggles during the experience and revealed his decision.

“It’s just recently, I haven’t seen anything more than a friendship with you girls,” he admitted.

Mackenzie immediately walked off while Allanah probed her farmer for more answers, asking: “Is that the truth? Yes or no.”

“Yeah, I feel like it’s just going to be a friendship,” Sam declared. “I have tried. I wanted more, I really did. I wanted to come in this to find love.”

Although she appreciated Sam’s honesty, Mackenzie was also upset that Sam had let her down.

“It hurts me to know that with a simple sentence, he can break my heart,” she confessed.

Fans of the reality show took to social media to slam Sam’s decision, saying he would’ve been “so lucky with either of his ladies”.

“No maturity or depth on his part,” one person tweeted. “You gotta put in the hard yards for a relationship.”

“Alannah will be ok. So will Mackenzie,” another added. “Both can do better than Sam.”

“Sam is the Honey Badger farmer,” a third user pointed out.

“Maybe Sam thought he was on Survivor and had to vote them all off,” someone else joked.
