It’s been a wild few weeks for Farmer Wants A Wife fans after Claire Saunders and Andrew Coleman announced their split and host Sam Armytage revealed she was leaving the series, and now another couple has shared some sad news.

Sarah Carey and Joe Bobbin, who met on this year’s season of the Channel Seven reality show, have revealed that they’ve broken up after several months of dating. Sarah took to her Instagram Stories on Monday evening to say that she and Joe called it quits a few weeks ago and she hopes her followers can respect her privacy.

“I was really hoping to not have to do this as I'm a very private person, but it's incredibly hard to heal whilst constantly receiving questions and comments about the status of my relationship,” she wrote.

“Joe and I separated a few weeks ago. This has been one of the hardest times of my life so I want to sincerely thank those who have sent kind messages checking in on me and for welcoming me into this community. It's been difficult without my friends and family around me but the kindness that has been shown is something I'll never forget.

“I understand there may be a lot of questions regarding why, but at this time I'm not ready to talk about that as I'm still processing the information myself. I really appreciate you respecting my privacy.”

When contacted by Yahoo Lifestyle for a comment on the split, Joe said: "The only comment I’ll make is you can’t force love." The pair have also unfollowed each other on Instagram and Sarah has deleted all photos of Joe from her profile, which suggests the split wasn’t amicable.

Sarah and Joe revealed in June that she had started a new job just a short distance from his farm in Bombala, NSW to be closer to him. They also sparked engagement rumours after fans noticed she was wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring in a recent video, but she quickly shut this down.

“Those rumours aren't true, the camera was flipped in selfie mode and the ring was actually on my right finger,” she told Yahoo Lifestyle at the time. “Loved the enthusiasm from everyone though!”

Sarah and Joe are the third couple from this year’s season to go their separate ways after Tom Boyer and Sarah Cranley announced their split in May 2024 and Dean Blanckensee and Teegan Amber revealed they were no longer together at the reunion.

Meanwhile, Todd Melbourne and Daisy Lamb are still going strong as well as Dustin Manwaring and Sophie Trethowan.

In the 17 years since Farmer Wants A Wife first premiered on Australian TV, the show has produced ten marriages and 26 babies.
