Is a 'When Harry Met Sally' Reboot In the Works? Meg Ryan/Instagram

Think of the most iconic rom-coms of the 20th century. Chances are, When Harry Met Sally popped into mind—but that’s not the only place the beloved fictional ‘80s couple appeared. If you’ve scrolled your Instagram feed lately, you may have caught the duo sitting side-by-side in what appears to be a re-making of the movie’s precious interview format. Here’s what we know so far.

On Wednesday, January 22, Meg posted a photo of herself and Billy Crystal sitting on a vintage pink velvet couch, in a scene that looks straight out of the film. (Though, eagle-eyed fans will know that the couch and wallpaper are, in fact, different.) Of course, Billy’s iconic cream cable-knit sweater also lends to the nostalgia. And then there’s Meg’s caption: “It’s finally happening, we’re reuniting for something iconic. Can’t wait to show you all soon.”

And then, nothing—no follow-up posts, no Stories, nada. But that hasn’t stopped diehard rom-com fans from sharing in the excitement.

“My brain can’t handle this!!! I want in!! Omg,” actress Jenna Fischer commented. “Best romantic comedy of all time. Hands down. Brilliant,” someone else chimed in. “This was not on my Bingo card but I am so stinkin’ happy to see these two faces next to each other on THAT couch,” another fan commented. “Please don’t get my hopes up! I need a real sequel,” someone else wrote.

See, that’s the thing: Many fans are too suspicious of such good news, assuming that, if anything, Meg and Billy’s reunion is for a Super Bowl commercial (one wrote, "MEG DONT PLAY WITH ME IF THIS IS A DUMB *** SUPER BOWL COMMERCIAL" and another replied, "of course that's what it is, just enjoy it!😍"), not a continuation of Sally and Harry’s love story. One can hope for the latter though!
