Fans Freak Out After Spotting Zendaya Casually Strolling By Their Dorm on a Froyo Run
She was "hella casual and nice," according to a student.
Zendaya always understands the assignment when it comes to slaying a red carpet, but her off-the-radar fashion game also serves every single time. Case in point: Even without the help of longtime stylist Law Roach, Z made a casual frozen yogurt run a cool-girl street style moment as she stepped out in Berkeley amid her recent engagement to longtime boyfriend Tom Holland–and students couldn't have been more surprised.
Per photos and videos shared by onlookers on TikTok and Reddit, Zendaya could be seen wearing her diamond engagement ring flipped around as she casually strolled by a dorm room on Tuesday. The Euphoria alum, who was born and raised in nearby Oakland, enjoyed a hometown visit without her fiancé, according to a Thursday, January 23 TikTok video detailing the encounter. “POV: You spot Zendaya outside your dorm on a casual Tuesday,” a Berkeley student wrote, sharing a clip of the Dune actress walking outside. Holding a Yogurt Park frozen yogurt container in one hand, Zendaya leaned into a professional aesthetic with a dark gray blazer paired with a matching gray top, straight leg medium wash jeans, and black leather loafers.
In a Berkeley Reddit post shared by @sapphiresays_, which confirmed that students had also spotted Zendaya by popular Berkley spot 3 Cafe, some onlookers shared photos that revealed Zendaya wore her unique 5.02-carat east-west diamond engagement ring flipped around. The Challengers star finished off her look by slicking back her newly cherry cola-red-hued hair in a slick bun and adding a pair of black oversize sunglasses.
It appears that Zendaya spent the rest of the week in the area, as other students said they’d spotted Zendaya near Lake Merritt, Lake Chalet Seafood Bar & Grill, and a “donut shop.”
The San Francisco Chronicle confirmed Zendaya’s visit to the historic frozen yogurt shop, as co-owner Ryan Piscovich told the publication that the star comes “all the time.” Meanwhile, UC Berkeley senior Tina Khangtintsang revealed she served Zendaya her usual order: A mini chocolate and vanilla frozen yogurt cup topped with rainbow sprinkles.
The student told the publication that the star was “hella casual and nice.” She noted that it “seemed like [Zendaya] was just hanging out with friends” and “it was really chill.”
