Fans ‘Bawling’ Over Kane Brown’s ‘Humble’ 2024 PCCAs Speech

Kane Brown is the 2024 People's Choice Country Awards' "Country Champion," and his speech while accepting the honor proved to fans that it was "so deserved."

Before the Thursday, Sept. 26, ceremony officially kicked off at Nashville's iconic Grand Ole Opry House, the "Miles On It" crooner donned a suave look as he walked the red carpet with his wife, Katelyn. The 30-year-old father of three wore a black shirt beneath a navy suit jacket and matching pants, while Katelyn wore a burgundy dress and matching clutch.

But it wasn't Brown's outfit that garnered the most attention. After delivering a fiery performance of "Fiddle in the Band," a song he released earlier this year, the country star was called back up onstage to receive the second-ever Country Champion Award. Wynonna Judd received the inaugural award last year.

Following a short video highlighting Brown's success in music and community support efforts with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Brown stepped onstage to deliver an acceptance speech that fans online praised for its humility.

Brown began by joking that his publicist gave him tips on what to say, but “I forgot already.”

“I always look down at myself, every day," he observed, adding, "I never think I should be on this stage."

He then offered advice to "any kid that’s watching, anybody that has a dream, anybody that wants to give back." To those audience members, Brown recommended that they pursue their dreams, help others and "don’t listen to people that tell you ‘no’ when you’re trying to do something.”

Brown ended his speech by acknowledging his "amazing" wife and kids and praising his fans, who "help me be up here."

On social media, fans couldn't help but express their reactions to his words on X, formerly Twitter.

“I’m bawling right now,” one X user wrote as another said Brown's Country Champion Award "is so deserved!!!!”

“Kane Brown wins a people’s choice country award and gives the best humble speech of the night," another fan noted. "Great entertainer and down to earth human.”

In addition to Brown's earlier performance, Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini, Lady A, Miranda Lambert, The War and Treaty, MGK and Parker McCollum also gave performances during the celebration of country music.

Lambert received the Country Icon award this year, while show presenters Carly Pearce, Dan + Shay, and Little Big Town also made notable stage appearances.
