Fans aren't pleased with Game of Thrones episode four

It might be the most popular show in the world, but following Game of Thrones’ fourth episode yesterday, fans reactions have been mixed to say the least.

There is a growing sense of disappointment with the show’s final season making its way out of fan sites and into the mainstream, and last night’s episode is largely to blame.

While a few moments delighted fans, irritation was the main flavour of the day, peppered with Podrick appreciation, dog commiseration and the cup that stopped a nation.

Warning, spoilers lie ahead tread with caution, if at all.

The let-down

Though many are loving the action-packed final season, after last night a huge number of fans expressed their disappointment with the series’ direction, with the episode accused of being inconsistent and rushed.

“This felt like two episodes cut into one,” one disgruntled fan wrote on a Reddit post-episode discussion thread.

“The editing and writing are a rushed joke here,” another concurred.

Twitter was also home to many a tweet denouncing the season so far.

Pod was seen in the background escorting two ladies from the party, both of whom looked thrilled.

“He is about to repopulate the north by himself,” observed one admirer on Reddit.

“HOLY SH*T PODRICK GOT A THREESOME. WHAT A F***KING STUD,” said another.

Pet the dog, Jon

Perhaps the most irate reactions came not from the treatment of one good boy who didn’t even get a goodbye.

Jon leaves for the South without so much as a pat on the head for Ghost, the bravest dire-wolf in the seven kingdoms.

“Pet the damn dog, Jon. Jesus Christ,” was how one viewer summed up the situation.

“Way to be a total d*ck to your dog, Jon,” said another, furious fan.

“Out of all the wtf things that happened this episode, Jon giving up Ghost and not even petting or saying anything to him pissed me off the most,” another user pointed out.

The ‘flat-white walker’

Finally the cup that stopped the world. The anachronistic oversight had Twitter lighting up with reactions ranging from disgust to hilarity, and everything in between.

The explosion that was last week’s episode has been somewhat unsettled by the ho-hum reaction this week, and we’re hoping the the show lifts its game - pun intended - in time for the final two episodes.

I for one am still hoping Game of Thrones goes out with a bang, rather than a:
