The Challenge’s Konrad on leaked raunchy hot tub scene: ‘Had no idea’
When the trailer for The Challenge was first released last month, one of the most explosive scenes featured The Bachelorette's Konrad Bien-Stephen hooking up with former Bachelor star Megan Marx in a hot tub.
The scene was particularly shocking to fans as it had occurred before Konrad and his ex Abbie Chatfield had confirmed their split, which wasn't announced until September. Konrad flew to Argentina to film The Challenge in August, with Abbie revealing the pair had split a 'couple months' earlier. Both Konrad and Abbie shared their last social media photos of each other in June.
Speaking with Yahoo Lifestyle, Konrad has revealed he "had no idea" footage of he and Megan in the hot tub had been released, so he wasn't nervous about Abbie's or anyone's reaction to him kissing Megan.
"To be completely honest, I had no idea that [the scene] was even being spoken about whilst the production was happening," he tells us. "So that stuff all got leaked, and we now know it's pretty clear that there's video footage of this leak."

"But yeah, whilst production was happening, was I nervous? No, because I didn't think anyone knew, we don't have our phones, we're completely cut off from the outside world. When it came out – I guess, I was single going in there, so it is what it is."
Speaking about whether he was open to meeting someone on the show, he tells us, "You know, going in I was single, so it wasn't completely written off, but it wasn't my main focus. I didn't expect it, I didn't go in looking for that. Some people in there were looking for love, interestingly enough. It's an interesting place to do that!"
He continued, "For me, no it was more about the experience of going to another country, being a part of these fun challenges – I'd been a fan of the show before being asked to go on there – and mainly, it was the prize money, I wanted to win the money, you know, I think that can really change your life."
While Konrad is following Megan on Instagram, it doesn't appear as though she is following him, leading us to question whether or not they took their relationship off the show.
The reality star was just as shocked by the revelation, saying, "Really? I've got to message her right now about that!"
He continued, teasing what's the come, "Yeah, we're friends, we live in different states, and I'm not going to say anymore, you've got to watch the show to find out all that sort of stuff, but I'm going to message her about the Instagram thing!"
"I'm going to jump on my phone and be like, 'So I heard you don't follow me!' Like that gauges everything," he joked.
Konrad on Challenge co-star Brooke Blurton: 'An amazing woman'
Konrad also opened up about coming face-to-face with Brooke Blurton, whose season of The Bachelorette he appeared on last year. Brooke and Abbie's friendship came to an end last year after Abbie revealed she was dating Konrad just hours before Brooke's finale aired on TV.
At the time, Brooke shared a scathing post on social media calling out her “close friend” for “tainting” her season of the dating show, in which she made history as the first Indigenous and openly pansexual lead.
She also criticised Abbie for “displaying what white privilege looks like” and labelled her actions as “a very clear display of narcissism”.

It seems as though things between Konrad and Brooke have been smoothed over, however, with Konrad describing her as an "amazing woman".
"Anyone that I date or been in a relationship with, I try and really be adult and mature about it," he says. "You can date someone, it can not work out, and you can still be friends.
"The last time I'd seen Brooke before going on this show was, you know, she was putting me in a limousine to send me home without a rose! So, obviously, I was interested to see how that would all play out, but Brooke's an amazing woman, an amazing person. And she's an important person for the communities that she represents, she does a great job and you don't get to that position by being horrible."
Konrad added that he was simply excited to be in Argentina, doing something fun and different, adding a confrontation with Brooke wasn't something he was "overly concerned about".
'Really strong contenders'
When asked if he was surprised by anyone's performance on the show, Konrad shared, "There's a couple of people on there, I'm not going to say who they are, but there are some really, really strong contenders in there that do really well," he said. "Stupidly, I was very much focused on the physical side of things, but The Challenge is a game that involves not just physical strength or endurance, but also the social aspect, and brains, you've got to be smart too! There are puzzles in there, there are quizzes, there's everything."
Speaking about the reality shows that bred the best contestants for The Challenge, Konrad shared that those who had been on Survivor or the new format of Big Brother "had an advantage" due to the social aspect of the game, like forming alliances and getting inside people's heads.
When it came to the contestant who was the most dramatic, Konrad said former MAFS star Cyrell Paule brought a lot of drama "in the best possible way".
"She is a strong character, but what I'll give her is she straight to the point, she stands for what she says, and she's not lying, so there's no bulls**t," he added.
