Yahoo Lifestyle Get an Exclusive Seank Peek of Melissa Gilbert's Guest Appearance on the Next 'When Calls the Heart'
Hearties, we've reached the halfway mark for Season 12! Don't the episodes just seem to zip by? Note that this week's episode will not premiere in its regular Sunday time slot. Instead, the episode, featuring Melissa Gilbert, will air at 10 p.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 8 directly after the premiere of The Wish Swap at 8 p.m. ET. on Hallmark Channel. And be sure to tune in to The Wish Swap, which features Pascale Hutton in a cameo role!

Gilbert will appear in a two-episode arc on the popular Hallmark Channel series. She plays Georgie McGill, a forensic investigator with ties to Bill Avery (Jack Wagner). If you didn't know, Michael Landon, Jr. is an executive producer on the series. His father, Michael Landon, was a producer on Little House on the Prairie, which starred Gilbert as Laura Ingalls. The elder Landon also starred in the show as Charles Ingalls, Laura's father.

In "Mom's the Word," last week's episode of When Calls the Heart," Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) tried out a new method of teaching. Nathan (Kevin McGarry) went undercover to help Bill and Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) with their investigation. Fiona (Kayla Wallace) returned to Hope Valley and brought along Ava (Tiera Skovbye), an unlucky heiress... or so it appears.
This week's episode of When Calls the Heart, "When Autumn Leaves Begin to Fall," finds Rosemary and Fiona starting a new news program. They invite Lucas (Chris McNally) to be their first guest on the show and pit him against an unlikely opponent. Elizabeth catches a cold and is down for the count. Nathan tends to her and gets her guidance on navigating Allie's heartbreak.
Meanwhile, Allie (Jaeda Lily Miller) discovers that a change to the stream is affecting the local ecosystem. She works with Oliver (Jacob Shoemay) to get to the bottom of what’s causing it. Later, Joseph (Viv Leacock) counsels Fiona on an important decision, while he and Minnie (Natasha Burnett) face a crossroads of their own.
Fun fact: Michael Landon, Jr. was Melissa Gilbert's prom date in real life!
