Ex Aussie teen star reveals 'intense' porn directing career: 'So sexy'

The former Neighbours star landed her first role when she was a teenager.

Aussie star Caitlin Stasey has worked in the TV industry since she was just 13. While she is known for her wholesome role in The Sleepover Club and a stint on Neighbours, the actress has tackled another unusual job over the past few years.

The star, 32, who can be seen in Amazon’s newest show Class of ’07, has opened up about her experience directing porn. In an appearance on news.com.au's podcast I’ve Got News For You, she described the X-rated content she has directed for the pornography company Afterglow as “intense”.

She touched on a film in development that makes fun of perfume ads, as the commercials rarely have a cohesive storyline.

“They’re always so sexy, and it always feels like sex is about to happen, when they’re sniffing each other’s necks and like, licking each other’s wrists,” she explained.

“So I kind of came up with the concept of a perfume commercial that then becomes a lesbian threesome.”

The Tomorrow When The War Began star also told the publication that she has found her experience working for female-led and queer-run Afterglow production company as “very warm”, with many “kind and patient” women working with her.

While it may seem like a complete change for the actress, she previously told Contents that the adult industry has been a great place to hone her directing and storytelling skills.

“I want to become a better director and learn how to make things that look beautiful and feel good so that one day I can learn how to make things that are ugly and don’t," she explained.

"You know, real cinema where there is no joy! Porn is a great place to get your visual bearings.

“I also want to contribute to this big evolving world of sex-positivity. It’s just time for the conversation around sex to change,” she added.

She also gushed about Afterglow's head of production Allie Oops, calling her an "invaluable and compassionate resource" during her foray into the adult industry.
