Dwayne Johnson is saying "You're Welcome" for creating his daughters' favorite Moana character.

The actor spoke with PEOPLE on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at the opening of Cirque du Soleil ‘Auana in Honolulu, and shared that his daughters Simone, 23, whom he shares with ex-wife Dany Garcia, and Jasmine Johnson, 9, and Tiana Johnson, 6, whom he shares with his wife, Lauren Hashian, are big fans of his character in the franchise.

Johnson, who plays Maui in Moana and Moana 2, and is set to reprise his role in the live-action iteration, told PEOPLE that his character is his girls' favorite.

"Of course I am!" the dad of three replied when asked if he was his daughters' favorite character. "We've very fortunate."

Johnson isn't the only one who lent his voice to the Disney franchise. In November, the proud dad told E! News about his experience bringing Jasmine and Tiana on the set of Moana 2 to voice two characters and what it was like to see their reactions when they heard their cameo for the first time in theaters.

“They loved it,” he told the outlet. “Loved, loved it. They hadn't seen it before. They knew they were in it, and they were sitting on the edge of their seats, literally, and just waiting."

Their sweet reaction was well worth the wait, Johnson noted. "Their scene came up, and they’re just like, ‘That's me!’ " he recalled. "It was so cool.”

“That’s the good stuff of fame,” he added, joking, “And nepotism.”

That same month, the star brought his family of girls with him to the Moana 2 premiere in Oahu, Hawaii. In the sweet red carpet snaps, the proud dad could be seen posing with his wife Hashian, 40, his mom Ata and his three daughters: Simone, Jasmine and Tiana.

In the images, the whole crew rocked floral leis around their necks. His younger two girls could be seen adorably matching in orange, pink and yellow tie-dye dresses, while his oldest wore a long, floral dress and pendant choker.
