Don't expect Nikki Glaser to joke about Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni at the Golden Globes
The comedian says the "It Ends With Us" costars' legal troubles will be off limits.
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's It Ends With Us legal troubles will be off limits at the upcoming 2025 Golden Globes, according to host Nikki Glaser.
Speaking with Yahoo Entertainment before the ceremony on Jan. 5, Glaser explained that the situation "is such a hot-button thing right now, that even a mere mention of it will seem like I could be on the wrong side of things, even though I would never be."
"I also don't want to give his name any — I'm mad I even know his name, to be honest with you, so I don't need to say it anymore," added the comedian.
Lively sued Baldoni, her It Ends With Us costar and director, before the New Year, accusing him of sexual harassment on set and orchestrating a smear campaign against her. Baldoni has denied the allegations, which were first publicized in an article published by The New York Times, and has filed his own lawsuit against the newspaper for libel. The Times said they planned to "vigorously defend against the lawsuit" in response.

Baldoni, who was dropped by his agency as a result of the allegations, also faces a second lawsuit filed by his former publicist, Stephanie Jones. She accuses the actor's current publicity team of conspiring against her and stealing her clients in their efforts to orchestrate the alleged smear campaign against Lively.
Released in theaters over the summer, It Ends With Us — an adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel of the same name — stars Lively as Lily Bloom, a flower shop owner who fights to break the cycle of domestic violence. The film was a box office success, amassing over $350 million at the global box office.
As for the Globes, the films recognized this year include musicals Wicked and Emilia Pérez, as well as body horror entry The Substance. Along with the Lively-Baldoni legal drama, Glaser also told Yahoo that she wouldn't be getting political or addressing President-elect Donald Trump during the show. "People are just tired of hearing about it, even though it's looming and it's in the air," she explained. "There will be a nod to it, but it will not be too heavy-handed. I've made a good point not to go too hard."
Above all else, Glaser just wants to put the audience at ease despite her recent roast appearances. "I'm not gonna go so hard that anyone's gonna be offended," said Glaser. "I've made a point not to, and that's not to disappoint anyone who's hoping I'm going to pull a Ricky Gervais. I'm not Ricky Gervais."
The Golden Globes airs on Jan. 5 on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
