Doctor Who Taps Archie Panjabi to Play Villain Next Season

Panjabi will join a cast led by Ncuti Gatwa, who debuted as the Fifteenth Doctor last season, with Millie Gibson as companion Ruby Sunday and Andor’s Varada Sethu joining next season as a new companion. Gatwa and Gibson will team up with Bridgerton standout Nicola Coughlan for Doctor Who’s next holiday special, titled “Joy to the World” and premiering on Disney+ on Christmas Day.
Panjabi is best known for playing investigator Kalinda Sharma on CBS’ The Good Wife, a role that earned her three Emmy nominations for best supporting actress in a drama, with a win in 2010. She recently starred opposite Idris Elba in the Apple TV+ airline thriller Hijack. Her other TV credits include Departure, Blindspot, Snowpiercer and Under the Bridge.
