Disney's Bella Thorne earns $1 million in 24 hours on OnlyFans
Former Disney star Bella Thorne has gobsmacked onlookers by pocketing a whopping $1 million in 24 hours on adult site OnlyFans.
The 22-year-old who rose to fame on Disney Channel program Shake It Up alongside Zendaya in 2010, joined the exclusive subscription-only online content site last week and claims in the first 24 hours on the site she made $1 million (AUD$1.4 million) in subscription fees.
The astounding figure broke the site’s record for most earnt in the first day on the platform, and reportedly even caused the site to crash briefly.
Over the rest of the week, the star’s paying fans have netted her an impressive $2 million total ($AUD2.8 million).
She’s not the first celebrity to join the site, with Cardi B and Jason Derulo both launching their own pages on the platform.
Cardi B was vocal about the fact that she would not be using the site to share X-rated content, but rather as a place to connect exclusively with fans, unlike Bella.
Bella using OnlyFans as way around Instagram policies and ‘research’
Bella has not specified exactly what she will share on the site, though she says she is in part using it to research for an upcoming film project with acclaimed director Sean Baker of The Florida Project and Tangerine fame.
When she first made the announcement she would be joining, she said she was joining OnlyFans to bypass Instagram’s strict policies.
"OnlyFans is the first platform where I can fully control my image; without censorship, without judgement, and without being bullied online for being me,” she told Paper Magazine.

It would be Bella’s second project after directing short porn film Him & Her in 2018.
It seems the star will be using her site to share some material not appropriate for her already suggestive Instagram page, however, with Complex reporting that a recent poll posted by the actress asked fans if they were interested in content including ‘tongue teasing’ and ‘lingerie’.
The subscription for the star’s page costs $102 for 6 months and the actress has already uploaded 20 exclusive photos and seven videos.
Celebrities flocking to OnlyFans during pandemic
A stream of celebrities have recently made the announcement that they would be joining the site, with former Married At First Sight star Hayley Vernon sending fans into a tailspin earlier this week when she revealed she would be signing up.
OnlyFans was set up in 2016 to provide a subscription-based platform for creators to share their work, however it soon became known for its explicit content as it allows nudity.
According to Forbes, the website saw a surge of users during the pandemic, with 75% increase in new sign-ups in March and 150,000 new users every 24 hours.
