Dexter: Resurrection Adds Franchise Vets David Zayas, James Remar and Jack Alcott as Series Regulars

Dexter’s past will continue to haunt him: David Zayas, Jack Alcott and James Remar have all joined Dexter: Resurrection as series regulars, TVLine has confirmed. The three actors will reunite with Michael C. Hall in the Paramount+ With Showtime sequel series, which begins production this month and will premiere some time this summer.

Zayas (Oz) and Remar (Black Lightning) will reprise their roles from the original series. Zayas plays Detective Angel Batista (who also returned for two Dexter: New Blood episodes), while Remar appears as Dexter’s late father, Harry Morgan. Alcott (The Good Lord Bird) returns as Dexter’s son, Harrison Morgan, who first appeared all grown up in Dexter: New Blood, the original’s sequel series that debuted in 2021.

Prequel series Dexter: Original Sin is currently airing. In its premiere we learned that the titular serial killer was being medically treated for the gunshot wound we thought had killed him. (Harrison fired that bullet in New Blood’s finale.) Original Sin is currently halfway through its Season 1 run, with its finale set to stream Feb. 14; the episode will air on Paramount+ With Showtime Sunday, Feb. 16 at 10/9c.

Deadline was first to report the news.
