“Community” star Yvette Nicole Brown marries actor Anthony Davis: 'He is the one for me'
Brown, 53, has been friends with Davis since she was in her 20s.
Actress Yvette Nicole Brown and actor Anthony Davis have made it official. The couple married in a ceremony with 200 guests on Saturday at The Maybourne Beverly Hills in Los Angeles.
"The idea that all of our friends and family would be there, and the spotlight would be on us, I'm nervous," the Community actress told PEOPLE in an exclusive new interview. "I've been on sets before. I know that when they say 'action,' everybody gets quiet and people speak and you're performing in that instance in front of a lot of people. But that's a character, right? So the idea that I am not performing, these are real words and real emotions, and we're really in front of everybody we know and love, [that made me] nervous."
But her butterflies had nothing to do with her groom.

"I had no nerves when it came to marrying this man," she said. "He is the one for me. Absolutely."
Brown, 53, has been friends with Davis since they were in their 20s. They went their separate ways, but he contacted her again in 2021, after learning her mother died. As she explained while appearing on The View in December 2023, he popped the question with a special lottery scratcher ticket. The words "Will you marry me?" materialized.
The Emmy-nominated actress, who wore a mermaid-style gown, told the magazine that the ceremony was "intimate, classy, and fun." It was also touching.
Brown's brother walked her down the aisle because her father is struggling with Alzheimer's; however, the groom surprised her by arranging for him to be part of the crowd.

This is the first marriage for Brown and the second for Davis. She said that she didn't expect marriage to happen for her.
While costarring in Drake & Josh from 2004 to 2007, Brown said she was deeply affected by putting on a gown her character wore for her nuptials.

"I cried when I saw myself in the wedding dress, and the wardrobe woman thought I was crying because I looked so beautiful," she said. "First of all, I'm not that kind of chick to cry because I look beautiful.… I was crying because I was like, 'This may be the only time I'm in a wedding dress.' And to realize that all these years later I was wrong and that I get to have my bridal moment as well, and my happy ending as well, it's amazing."
She had a message for others: "It's never too late."
