CNN Unveils ‘Have I Got News For You’s Season 2 Premiere Date
EXCLUSIVE: Have I Got News for You, CNN’s American adaptation of the long-running BBC comedy panel series, is set to return for its second season on Saturday, February 15 at 9pm ET/PT.
The broadcast announcement came tonight during the 9 o’clock hour of New Year’s Eve Live with Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper. Host Roy Wood Jr., formerly of The Daily Show, put in an appearance, along with Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black, who serve as his team captains on the show.
Produced by Hat Trick Productions for CNN Originals, Have I Got News for You aims to serve up a smart and edgy take on the news of the week, as the comic trio led by Wood Jr. guides a rotating collection of guests through an array of comic games and quick-witted panel conversations that test their knowledge of current events. The show’s 10-episode freshman season premiered September 13 and joined CNN’s encore presentation of Real Time with Bill Maher as part of the network’s revitalized Saturday primetime offering, marking CNN’s investment into topical entertainment programming. CNN announced its Season 2 renewal back in November, ahead of the Season 1 finale’s airing.
Notable guests during the first season included Robin Thede, Andy Richter, Mark McKinnon, Ana Navarro, Larry Wilmore, Adam Kinzinger, Anthony Scaramucci, Bomani Jones, Rep. Tim Burchett, and journalist/host Kara Swisher.
