Christmas wrapping hack for irregular-shaped presents goes viral
If you’re one of those people who will only buy perfectly square or rectangle shaped Christmas presents to avoid having to wrap the odd ones, then this hack is for you.
A mother-of-two has shared a simple wrapping technique that will save you from ever having to stock up on Christmas gift bags for your irregular-shaped items again.
Using a toy Mickey Mouse as an example, TikTok user @mama_mila demonstrated how to use brown paper and a white ribbon to get the present ready to go under the tree.
Captioning the clip, the savvy Melbourne-based parent – who regularly shares DIY home hacks – revealed: “Here’s how to wrap gifts that are a harder shape.”
Here are her steps:
Fold the paper into a trifold and tape
Fold bottom upwards
Create a diamond and fold bottom and top inwards and tape
Place present inside and seal top
Add ribbon
The video, which was posted to the festive sound of Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree, has received more than four million views and over 397,000 ‘likes’ on the social media site.

Thanking her for sharing the tip, one person wrote: “This was a lifesaver.”
“I love this!” was another comment.
“Your tips are terrific!” another person agreed.
While a fourth added: “Amazing idea.”
It comes after a Kmart fan shared her "life-changing" Christmas hack, of how she uses toilet rolls to keep her wrapping paper tidy and under control, which seriously impressed plenty of people.
The woman showed herself in a video cutting a toilet roll vertically in half so that it could fit around a roll of wrapping paper, while still maintaining its cylindrical shape.
Another clever Christmas decorator also shared the trick she uses to make her tree look extra plush without spending hours fluffing up the individual branches.
“Just a little hack for the people that don’t want to spend hours ‘fluffing their tree’ to make it look lush,” she wrote, sharing a photo of her own Christmas tree in a popular Kmart hacks group on Facebook.
“I always wrap a garland through mine, to hide any gaps. Then minimal fluffing before decorating.”
