Chrissy Teigen Mourns Heartbreaking Family Loss: 'We Were So Beyond Lucky to Have You'
Model Chrissy Teigen shared some sad news when she revealed that her family's dog Penny passed away at the age of 11.
The mother of four, who is married to singer John Legend, shared photos of Penny from over the years as she announced on social media, "Our beautiful little tripod queen, penny, passed on peacefully in her sleep today."
"Born the same day John and I got married, 11 years ago, she was there for us for every baby, every loss, every joy. She loved nothing more than being loved, having her nub rubbed and destroying any ball she could get her paw on, even til her last weeks," Teigen went on.
She added the poignant note, "Never forget that while every pup is just a few chapters in your long life, for them you are their entire book, their entire lives."
The update included photos of Penny cuddling with Teigen and Legend, playing with a ball and hanging out with the couple's son Miles.

Teigen concluded her tribute with the note, "Oh penny. We were so beyond lucky to have you. Say hi to Puddy and Pippa for us. You are all together again. 🤍," referencing two other pets the family lost over the past six years.
Friends and fans shared condolences for Teigen and her family, with fellow model Brooklyn Decker saying, "Oh Penny. I absolutely hate to hear this. She left her mark. Sending you all so much love 🌈💔."
"I’m so sorry. What a beautiful life you gave her. She’ll always have a piece of my heart. 🤍," wrote one fan, as another said, "I’m very sorry for your immense loss. Fly high Penny, and frolic in those rainbow fields in joy and happiness. 💔 🌈."
Teigen also shared a photo on her Instagram Stories of herself holding Penny on her lap as her daughter Luna hugged her, while Legend and Miles sat next to them on the couch.
