Elsa's gushing birthday message to Chris Hemsworth after Liam's split

His younger brother Liam is dealing with the prospect of divorce, just eight months after getting married, but amid the family turmoil, Chris Hemsworth’s wife Elsa Pataky hasn’t forgotten the Thor star’s birthday.

Elsa, who shares three children with Chris, shared a loved-up tribute to her husband of eight years on Instagram on Sunday night.

“Happy birthday to my favourite human being, my husband my partner, my love, best dad ever, I’m so proud of you and who you are,” she wrote.

“Don’t ever stop making us laugh. You make every moment in our lives so happy,” the gushing message, shared alongside photos of the couple, continued.

Bad timing

Chris turned 36 on Sunday, the same day news broke that his younger brother Liam, had officially split from wife Miley Cyrus, whom he married last Christmas.

A statement from Miley’s representative confirmed they had “agreed to separate at this time”.

“Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers,” they told People.

“They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”

Miley’s moving on

Miley, 26, has since been seen kissing Brody Jenner’s ex Kaitlynn Carter, while on holiday in Italy, meanwhile a source has claimed Liam is devastated by the split.

“Their marriage is over and Liam is absolutely heartbroken, but Miley is making up for lost time,” they told The Sun.

“She made it clear she wanted to be able to have fun with other people - men and women - but it's always been something he's had a hard time understanding.”

The singer took to social media on Monday morning to say the separation was inevitable.

“Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win,” the singer cryptically wrote, “Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa, change is inevitable.”

“My dad always told me ‘Nature never hurries but it is always on time’.... it fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true. I was taught to respect the planet and its process and I am committed to doing the same with my own”.

Trouble brewing

The world was delighted to see that after ten years of an on-again, off-again relationship, Liam and Miley tied the knot in a quiet ceremony on December 23 last year. Coincidently, Chris and Elsa also chose that time of the year for their wedding back in 2010, which took place on December 26.

However, rumours of issues within the marriage began swirling in May, when a source close to the couple told OK! magazine Miley’s odd behaviour on the red carpet at the Met Gala had caused problems.

“Liam knows that Miley is a free spirit, but sometimes she goes too far,” the source said.

“She was licking his face for the cameras on the red carpet, then grinding on people on the dance floor inside and grabbing her crotch.”

At odds

Reports have also suggested that 29-year-old Liam was hoping to start a family like his two older brothers who have seven kids between them.

“She is acting out like a teenager. [Liam] wants a wife who is ready for babies and she is like, 'Let's go to the club!’,” a source was quoted saying.

Indeed, Liam is a family man at heart and is often spotted surfing with brother Chris in Byron Bay, or hanging at home with his dogs on his Instagram account.

Meanwhile in a recent interview with Elle magazine, Miley described herself as pansexual and not a stereotypical wife.

"I mean, do people really think that I'm at home in a f**king apron cooking dinner?" she said.

"I'm in a hetero relationship, but I still am very sexually attracted to women. People become vegetarian for health reasons, but bacon is still f**king good, and I know that. I made a partner decision. This is the person I feel has my back the most. I definitely don't fit into a stereotypical wife role. I don't even like that word."

Miley and Liam were initially together for three years and got engaged during that period, but eventually called quits on their relationship in 2013.

After a three year hiatus, the pair reunited in 2016 and it seemed their relationship had gone from strength-to-strength with Miley detailing her renewed love for Liam in the song ‘Malibu’.
