Miley Cyrus licks Liam Hemsworth at the Met Gala

If there is ever a place for celebs to wear something weird and wonderful, it’s on the Met Gala red carpet.

And while Lady Gaga clearly stole the show with her four - yes FOUR - outfit changes, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth also turned heads as they posed for cameras, but not for what they were wearing.

Instead, newly married Miley raised eyebrows with her slightly unconventional - and sloppy - way of showing her affection for Liam.

Leaning in for what looked like a kiss on the cheek, Miley instead licked the side of her husband’s face, leaving him looking slightly stunned.

The theme for this year’s Met Gala is ‘camp’, and the celebs were pulling out all the stops to trump each other on the red carpet.

While Gaga’s theatricality was hard to beat, there were plenty of other attendees wearing award-winning looks.

Serena Williams paired her bright yellow gown with matching neon sneakers; Laverne Cox had over-the-top shoulder details and blue hair; Harry Styles opted for a sheer black blouse; and so much more.
