Chelsea Handler Embraces Monochromatic Utilitarianism in Black Jumpsuit for the Tree Lighting at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas
Chelsea Handler embraced a minimalist look during her appearance at the tree lighting at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas on Sunday evening. With the tree adorned in twinkling blue, gold and silver snowflakes and baubles that shimmered under the lights, Handler kept her look simple, opting for a sleek black jumpsuit that allowed the festive decor to take center stage.
Her jumpsuit featured long sleeves, a button-down front, a tied belt and wide-leg trousers that cropped neatly at the ankle. She completed the look with black ankle booties and minimal jewelry, including a dainty necklace and rings. Wearing her hair down, Handler opted for minimal glam, enhancing her look with a touch of blush and a subtle smokey eye.

Minimalist and utilitarian styles like jumpsuits, boiler suits and coveralls have been enduring staples in Handler’s wardrobe throughout her career. She frequently chooses pieces from brands like Rivet Utility and Wildfang, especially during her residency at the Cosmopolitan, which began at the beginning of last September. Notably, Handler’s residency marks the first for a female comedian at the venue and is set to continue through April 2024.
Handler isn’t the only star embracing utilitarianism this year. Charli XCX showcased the trend last November, stepping out in a Saint Laurent boiler suit in New York ahead of her hosting and performing debut on “Saturday Night Live.” Others have incorporated jumpsuits with a power dressing twist, such as Jodie Comer, who paired a plunging Prada jumpsuit with a structured, boxy double-breasted blazer in charcoal gray at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival last month.
