Katie Holmes Wore the Polarizing Denim Trend That Celebrities Can't Get Enough Of

Katie Holmes has officially jumped on the barrel-leg jean bandwagon. And she's in good company, too. Joining the likes of Blake Lively, Gigi Hadid, Jennifer Lopez, and more stylish stars, Holmes has made it known that she's on-board with the controversial denim trend while wearing what might be her baggiest jeans to date. 

On Thursday, the actress stepped out for one of her signature street style strolls in New York City, dressed in an outfit that was equal parts cozy and chic. On top, she wore an oversized gray crewneck sweater that was elevated by the blue and white polka-dot scarf tied around her neck, while on bottom, she opted for a divisive pair of ultra-wide barrel jeans in a dark wash that bowed out at the legs and tapered back at the ankles.

She accessorized with white low-top sneakers and black square sunglasses, and haphazardly pulled her windswept brunette waves back into a braided ponytail.

This isn't the first time Holmes has test-drove the jeans of the season. Back in January, the Dawson's Creek alum was spotted out on a Starbucks coffee run while wearing a baggy brown and blue flannel that was left mostly unbuttoned with an even baggier pair of barrel jeans. This time around, she opted for a light blue color but kept her accessories—white sneakers, square-frame sunglasses—mostly the same while also adding a black beanie to the mix.
