Check Out Demi Moore’s Powerful Best Actress Speech at the Golden Globes

Demi Moore just won Best Actress in a Motion Picture: Musical or Comedy for The Substance at the 2025 Golden Globes—a major milestone in her career given it’s her first time winning an award for acting. Which is pretty wild considering she’s been incredible in some very noteworthy movies (GI Jane, anyone?!).

“I’m just in shock right now,” Demi said in her speech. “I’ve been doing this for a long time, over 45 years now, and this is the first time I’ve won anything as an actor. I’m so humbled and so grateful.”

“One thing that I think this movie is imparting is in those moments when we don’t think we’re smart enough or pretty enough or skinny enough or successful enough or basically just not enough,” she continued. “I had a woman say to me, just, ‘No, you will never be enough, but you can know the value of your worth if you just put down the measuring stick.’ And so today, I celebrate this as a marker of my wholeness and of the love that is driving me. And for the gift of doing something I love and being reminded that I do belong. Thank you so much.”
