I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here will hit Aussie screens this Sunday, and though viewers have been chomping at the bit to discover which celebrities will brave the South African jungle, the first reveal of the series has come up against mixed reviews.

After months of teasing viewers, Channel 10 announced former Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby, 29, would be the series’ surprise international star this morning, but the anticipated reveal has sparked as many question marks as exclamation points.

It seems not everyone is across who, in fact, she actually is.

Announced via the I’m a Celeb Instagram page, fans of the show were quick to parrot the same question over and over; ‘who is she?’.

“Who is she I have no idea???” one woman asked.

“Who is this?” another also wondered.

It seems far more British fans than Aussies were excited to tune in to see the English reality star, with the most comments asking how they could access the show in the UK.

Luckily, plenty of Aussie fans were thrilled at the reveal and not afraid to say so.

“Yes! She is hilarious!” one wrote.

”Yay I love Charlotte,” another wrote.

The polarising personality had only extreme reactions, with some threatening to tune out, and others sharing they would only be tuning in to see the British party girl brave the jungle.

Charlotte shot to fame on the British reality series Geordie Shore in 2011 for both her drunken antics and the hilarious, sharp wit that belied her party girl exterior, as well as her high-profile on/off relationship with fellow Geordie Gaz Beadle.

She has since won Celebrity Big Brother UK, authored two Sunday Times bestselling books, starred in her own reality series and continues to host MTV’s Just Tattoo of Us.

Today she boasts an impressive 7 million followers on Instagram, largely thanks to her highly popular fitness DVDs, the first of which, titled Charlotte's 3 Minute Belly Blitz, became the UK's fastest-selling fitness DVD in 2014.

She’s not the first Geordie Shore alumni to star in the Aussie series, friend and co-star Vicky Pattison appeared on the show in 2018, finishing in fourth place.

Charlotte is the second celebrity reveal for the season after The Living Room TV chef Miguel Maestre was announced late last year.

The pair will join the other mystery campers when the show premieres 7.30 pm this Sunday on Channel 10.
