Cassie Finally Broke Her Silence After Kanye West Decided To Publicly Support Diddy, And Her Response Is Exactly What Everyone Has Been Saying
Cassie had a subtle but strong reaction after Kanye "Ye" West tweeted support for Diddy.
In November 2023, Cassie sued Diddy, whom she dated off and on from 2007 to 2018, for alleged rape and physical abuse. In a statement shared with the New York Times, Cassie said, "After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships." Diddy denied her allegations before settling the lawsuit a day later.
He was later arrested on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, for which he has pleaded not guilty. He is currently awaiting his May 2025 trial in a federal jail in Brooklyn.
Since then, many of Diddy's musical peers have distanced themselves from him, while Ye has openly embraced him. In February, he tweeted, "FREE PUFF" and accused "white people" of using his legal situation to "scare [N-words]." He further stepped in to help Diddy's family amid his incarceration, according to a recently leaked jail call between the two, and this week, he released a Diddy song featuring his 11-year-old daughter, North West, despite Kim Kardashian's apparent disapproval.
Meanwhile, Cassie has remained largely out of the spotlight even before the lawsuit was filed, having settled down with and married fitness trainer Alex Fine, with whom she shares three children, in 2019. But Cassie has, understandably, had enough — because today, she took to Instagram to share a pointed message at the Yeezy mogul.
She reposted a tweet from Ye's rival Playboi Carti that simply read, "YE STFU."
Carti, who's best known for his 2017 song "Magnolia," shared the tweet amid an online rift with Ye over Ye not being included on Carti's recently released album Music. Ye further called Carti out for messaging Kim to ask permission to do a song with North — which Kim then reshared on her Instagram story.
SHOULD CARTI HAVE EVEN SPOKEN TO MY BABY MAMA AT ALL

Ye wrote, "I HELD MY TONGUE ABOUT MOT[sic] BEING ON CARTI ALBUM HIM GOING TO MY EX TO ASK MY DAUGHTER TO BE ON A SONG 2 DAYS LATER WAS TOO FAR NOBODY FINNA PLAY WITH ME." Carti responded to the tweet, "YE STFU."
