Yahoo Lifestyle Cassandra ‘Elvira’ Peterson Looks Nearly Unrecognizable in Recent Sighting
Cassandra Peterson is still a total goth queen, even when she's dressed supremely casually.
The Elvira actress was spotted in Southern California, arriving at Los Angeles International Airport last week, but photos were only obtained by the Daily Mail on Sunday, Jan. 26.
Peterson, now 73, was photographed by paparazzi in a casual all-black ensemble that rendered her nearly incognito. Strutting through the doors of the airport, the goth icon was seen sporting a pair of leather combat boots, skinny jeans, a turtleneck layered under a zip-up jacket, a fuzzy hat and round-frame glasses.
Her red hair was blown out straight and she kept her glam minimal, wearing only what appeared to be a berry-red shade of lipstick, a stark contrast from how fans may remember her vampire-ish makeup during her Mistress of the Dark era.
Since shooting to stardom in the series and its several spinoffs, Peterson has kept a rather low profile in Hollywood and on social media, but she hasn't completely retired from the spotlight as she maintains an active TikTok account and an even stronger Instagram presence.
Just a few days ago, Peterson reunited with St. Elsewhere co-star Ed Begley Jr. during this year's Albuquerque Comic Con, sharing a sweet video of the reunion, gushing, "We are old, old friends forever."
Along with the occasional con appearance, Peterson has made a habit of gracing both the small and big screen when the opportunity is right, taking up a career as a voice actor for animated series and video games. A few of her latest credits include The Munsters (2022), Netflix and Chills With Dr. Elvira (2021), an episode of The Goldbergs (2021), and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2013-1017), among many others.
