Yahoo Lifestyle Cardi B Turns Up the ‘Fun Factor’ in Dsquared2’s Reworked See-Through Dress at Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2024
Cardi B looked angelic in pale pink, as she arrived at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2024 on Tuesday in New York. She donned a sleeveless custom Dsquared2 gown, topped with a white furry coat. Turning up the Hollywood glamour, she wore her hair in burgundy shoulder-length waves and accessorized her ensemble with large sparkling diamond-shaped earrings and a shimmering statement necklace.
Her dress was a remake of one of the looks at Dsquared2’s ready-to-wear fall 2024 show that used strategically-placed ribbons to create geometric patterns down a sheer dress. Cardi B’s version was elongated into a floor-length gown. “The fun factor was strong, fueled by twin creative engines,” WWD’s Miles Socha noted in a review.

In an interview with WWD earlier this year, Dan Caten, one of the brand’s twin designers, described their different styles. “Dean’s more flamboyant and more exaggerated, and I’m a bit more grounded and more serious.”
Cardi B’s pale pink look is a departure from her louder, high-fashion statement gowns. At Paris Fashion Week earlier this month, she wore a lion mane-like faux fur coat at Alexander McQueen’s spring 2025 show, a colorful graffiti print corset mini-dress with fishet stockings for Vivienne Westwood’s runway show, a golden chainmail dress to Rabanne’s spring 2025 show and furry emerald coat gown with a high slit at Balmain’s spring 2025 show.
Her most iconic looks might be the Thierry Mugler’s Venus dress that went viral after she wore it to the 2019 Grammys. She had another memorable moment at the 2019 Met Gala in an oxblood red Thom Browne gown, embroidered with 30,000 feathers.
After a six-year hiatus, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is back. The 2024 presentation airs live on Prime Video and across the brand’s YouTube, Instagram and TikTok channels. Former Angels such as Tyra Banks, Alessandra Ambrosio and Taylor Hill will walk the runway alongside new faces like Paloma Elsesser and Devyn Garcia. Cher, Tyla and Lisa of Blackpink are the evening’s musical guests.
