Caprice films Christmas movie in 'quirky' bookshop
American actress and model Caprice Bourret has been filming a new Christmas movie at a "quirky" bookshop in Perthshire.
The 53 year-old, who is producing and starring in The Scottish Christmas Secret, was pictured filming scenes at The Watermill bookshop and café in Aberfeldy on Tuesday.
John Argo, who co-owns the shop, said he had received a call from Bourret asking if she could use his business as a filming location.
He told BBC News he initially thought it was a "wind-up".
Mr Argo said he had been in a meeting with his business partner when a staff member said someone was on the phone asking about using the shop as a filming location.
He said: "This lady with an American accent said - 'my name is Caprice, I used to be a model, now I make Christmas movies and would love to use your bookshop as a location for a movie we are shooting in Scotland'."
Mr Argo said he was only convinced it was real once Bourret, who is also the executive producer for the film, sent him the synopsis.
He said the actress needed a bookshop close to their prime filming location in Aviemore.
"She googled bookshops and found our one," Mr Argo said.
"Our bookshop is quite a quirky building. It is a very interesting space.
"She saw some of the footage of the shop and thought it would fit what she wanted."
Mr Argo said they closed the whole business for one day so it was easier for the crew to film scenes.
He said: "We helped them out with lunch, and hosted them.
"The crew was very respectful of the space.
"They put more Christmas decorations up and made it look like a classic movie setting."
Mr Argo said the actress-turned-movie-producer was friendly and accommodating, while she got on with organising the shoot.
He said: "She was very excited about being here, so was the whole crew, who where form all over the UK and America."
Bourret will star in the film alongside American actor Alex Trumble.
The actress posted some behind-the-scenes shots on her social media.
She wrote: "And so it begins up in Scotland shooting another Christmas movie having a blast."
The Scottish Christmas Secret follows Bourret's 2024 production of 'A European Christmas' which she also produced and starred in.
