Bugatchi Updates Fall Offering With Elevated Italian-made Assortment

Anthony Keegan had long admired L’Uomo Vogue photographer Paolo Roversi for his “romantic and dreamy” images. So as he was searching for inspiration for Bugatchi’s fall collection, Keegan reflected on those works and sought to inject a similar aesthetic into his offering.

He succeeded with an elevated and cozy menswear collection that ranged from supple leather and suede jackets to unconstructured blazers. Shirts, the hallmark of the Bugatchi brand, also got an update this season with a variety of plaids added to the line in patterns that ranged from micro and exploded versions to dégradé.

Throughout the collection, the color walnut was used as the brand’s new neutral, showing up in everything from sport coats and coats to sweaters.

New this season too is an elevated grouping that is being manufactured by artisans in Puglia, Italy. While many of the silhouettes were the same as in the core collection, the craftsmanship of the assortment was evident upon inspection. A close look at the single-needle tailored shirts found that the seams lined up flawlessly, details that were also evident in the outerwear, sweaters and pants.

A key piece in this grouping was a peacoat, updated with a longer silhouette and modernized with a zip-out quilted lining.

Throughout this collection, Keegan made sure to maintain “the Bugatchi fit” rather than a slim European silhouette.

The entire assortment was designed to be light, as shown in a shearling jacket with knit sleeves and ribbing. “I was trying to make shearing lighter,” Keegan said.

Other key pieces included a double-breasted peacoat with a leather patch across the back, cashmere-blend jackets and a range of cotton twill yarn-dyed shirts in solids or prints.

All in all, Keegan continues to excel at moving the brand forward without losing its heritage.
