Katie Holmes Goes Strapless in Origami-inspired Dress at Michael Kors Cocktail Party in New York

Michael Kors celebrated the opening of his new Madison Avenue boutique with help from Katie Holmes. The actress attended a cocktail party at the legendary Bemelmans Bar, where she sported a look from the designer’s spring 2025 collection.

Holmes opted for a strapless black sheath dress from Michael Kors Collection. The dress featured origami-inspired folds at the neckline. She paired it with a matching wool coat, sheer tights and pumps. A pair of pearl statement earrings completed her sleek look.

The “Our Town” star wore her brunette tresses in an updo, while her makeup consisted of black eyeliner, coral blush and a terracotta lip.

Holmes just finished her run in the Broadway revival of Thornton Wilder’s famous play, which costarred Jim Parsons and Zoey Deutch.

Other high-profile guests in attendance at Kors’ soirée included Alan Cumming, Iman and fellow Broadway star Nicole Scherzinger, who currently appears in the musical “Sunset Blvd.”

Late last month, Holmes visited Paris to attend Patou’s fall 2025 presentation.  She proposed a new way of wearing a classic striped button-down, wearing it backward with a popped collar. The actress also added on a brown leather trenchcoat and pleated trousers.

Holmes has a penchant for French fashion, having collaborated with Parisian label A.P.C. on a capsule collection last summer. She’s been photographed wearing the brand on multiple occasions.

“I have loved [A.P.C.] since I discovered it,” Holmes said in a statement following the release of her capsule. “The simplicity of design is born out of sophisticated consistency to details and form. A.P.C. is not only elegant in life, but I have also used it many times for costumes in film as its classic design is timeless.”
