Bride slams groom's deceitful wedding dress act: 'Creepy'
A bride has revealed how she "lost it" at her fiancé after he committed a deceitful act with her wedding dress.
The woman explained she is getting married in December and her future mother-in-law has been involved in the wedding planning, which she described as an "absolute nightmare".
Writing about the situation on Reddit, the bride added her fiancé's mum wanted to be heavily involved as he was her only son and she had "visions" for how she wanted his wedding to look.
Involving her in the process, the bride said she invited the groom's mum to come wedding dress shopping with her own mum and friends.
The bride said she was "so lucky" to find her dream dress, but her fiancé's mum had other ideas.
"She picked a dress that she liked so much and said that she always pictured her son's bride in it," the woman explained.
"Mum and friends thought this line was creepy. I thought the dress was somewhat creepy and totally not my type. I apologised and thanked her for her 'vision' but told her that I'd already decided on a dress that I had 'envisioned' myself wearing at my wedding."
The bride said her mother-in-law was offended and told her fiancé, who came home upset at the bride for "turning down" her help in choosing the dress.
"I don't really get how she should get a say at all. He got upset and said that this attitude of mine isn't working on him or his mum. He said that I should consider the dress his mum wanted me to buy, especially knowing that 'both dresses weren't that much different anyway', like she said, but I told him, 'Yes they were different'," she said.

The bride revealed she then discovered her fiancé returned her wedding dress behind her back and replaced it with the one his mum wanted her to buy.
"I called him and he was straightforward about what he did and why he did it. I lost it and started screaming at him. He asked me to calm down and really give this dress a chance," she added.
"I refused to even listen, I screamed at him without giving him a chance to speak. He got home and we had an argument. I then went to stay with one of my friends and he kept calling and calling, then texting, saying that I overreacted and it's his wedding too so it wasn't cool how I screamed at him.
"He insisted I give this dress a chance. He went on and on about how his mum has a 'vision' and good intentions and just wants what's best for me as her future daughter-in-law."

The bride said her own mother was "livid" by the situation, but her fiancé was still insisting she wears the dress his mum picked out, despite her paying for the dress herself.
People on Reddit were shocked by the groom's behaviour, with many suggesting the bride should reconsider marrying him.
"If your fiancé isn’t willing to stand up for you and himself, you will have to get used to having her run your lives from here on out," one commented.
"This dynamic isn't something that's going to go away with the wedding. Even if you smooth over the current issue (or simply come to accept her choice) it will not be the end of this," another warned.
"To your fiancé, his mother will always come first. Run, don’t walk, away. Now," a third added.
