Bride shocks with 'disgusting' demands of bridal party: 'Hit the gym'

A woman has revealed she "officially dropped out of the bridal party" after receiving a shocking text message from the bride-to-be.

"I've officially dropped out of the bridal party," the woman wrote on Reddit, alongside screenshots of the outrageous demands her friend had sent the bridesmaids ahead of her wedding day.

Among them, the bride-to-be, from Oklahoma in the US, revealed she had already purchased the dresses for the bridal party, all of them a size 8, for her dream wedding.

"I handpicked all the dresses [for the bridesmaids] that will be there and they will all be a size 8. So if you’re not a size 8 I recommend hitting the gym," the message read.

"No offence to anyone but I have had this planned since I was in diapers and want it perfect."

The woman who shared the outlandish order said she had since dropped out of the bridal party because she’s "a size 12 with no plans on dropping to a size 8 by December."

And the demands didn't stop there either, as the woman went on to say she expected her bridesmaids to have short and uncoloured nails and shoulder-length straight hair.

"If your hair is short get extensions," the message said.

"I’m sorry if this seems like a lot of demands but this is a special day and I just want it like I always pictured. Plz be respectful and we will have an awesome time."

Before signing off the note with "love you guys can't wait to be a wifey", she made sure to remind everyone about their seemingly 'mandatory' $500 donation towards their honeymoon in Hawaii.

The post received a huge response - over 6.8K comments - with the majority slamming the bride for her "disgusting" demands.

"Disgusting, they should just go to a local B n B if they can't afford to pay for the trip themselves," was one comment.

"I really hope she gets a well deserved reality check and there's only 4 people at her wedding," was another response.

While a third asked how the bride reacted when the woman told her she would drop out, adding "She seems like the type to take it personally and lose her s**t."

"She was 'hurt' but said she figured I wouldn't be able to drop the weight since I recently gave birth and still expecting my to donate to her honeymoon," the woman explained.

"That's a big fat NO from me. I will be sitting out this wedding and instead going to stuff my face at Burger King."
