Black and White Looks are Trending on the Golden Globes 2025 Red Carpet: Kate Winslet in Erdem, Zoë Kravitz in Saint Laurent and More

Shades of black and white were trending at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday in Beverly Hills. Monochrome hues also had a major moment during last year’s award season after populating the runways of Gucci, Chloé and Carven, among others.

Stars including Zoë Kravitz, Kate Winslet and Colman Domingo, however, revived the streamlined fad, wearing designs by Saint Laurent, Erdem and Valentino. Ahead, see some of the best black-and-white looks from this year’s Golden Globes.

Kravitz modeled a plunging velvet Saint Laurent gown tied with a white silk bow that extended into a floor-length train. The Golden Globes presenter wore her dark tresses in a sleek updo, while her makeup consisted of winged eyeliner and a barely-there lip.

Winslet wore a floral Erdem suit from the label’s pre-fall 2025 collection, which consisted of a single-breasted blazer and flared pleated trousers. She accessorized with diamond-encrusted Martin Katz jewelry, including earrings and a ring set in 18-karat white gold.

Colman Domingo

Domingo selected a Valentino suit custom-designed by the label’s newest creative director, Alessandro Michele. Featuring a polka-dot shirt and a patterned necktie, the “Sing Sing” actor accessorized with an Omega timepiece and Boucheron jewelry.

Domingo was assisted by styling duo Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald, who have also curated looks for Jodie Turner-Smith and Danielle Deadwyler.

Margaret Qualley’s tiered silk and tulle Chanel gown featured a sequin- and crystal-embellished bow tied at the waist. She also added on fine jewelry by the French fashion house, including a white gold ring and earrings encrusted with pearls and diamonds.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Jeanne Cadieu

Jake Gyllenhaal and his girlfriend, model Jeanne Cadieu, coordinated in black-and-white looks by Prada and Versace, respectively. Michael Fisher, who also works with Sebastian Stan and John Mulaney, styled Gyllenhaal for the occasion.

The actor wore a wool suit with silver buttons, a white poplin shirt, a black silk cummerbund and brushed leather lace-up shoes. Cadieu’s sleeveless gown, meanwhile, mimicked a tuxedo with its double-breasted silhouette and peak lapels.

Alexandra Daddario

Alexandra Daddario’s beaded Vivienne Westwood Couture corset gown featured a feathered off-the-shoulder neckline. Jimmy Choo sandals and a red lip completed her look. The “White Lotus” actress was dressed by Emma Jade Morrison, who also counts Phoebe Tonkin and Jonathan Bailey as clients.

The 2025 Golden Globes ceremony celebrates over eight decades of honoring entertainment excellence. Broadcast on CBS and hosted by Nikki Glaser, this year’s event featured 27 categories, including drama, comedy and limited series.
