Beyoncé's fans notice surprising detail in photo: 'Who is this?'

Fans have taken to social media to share their surprise after noticing an odd detail in Beyoncé Knowles-Carter's new photos from the premiere of Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé.

The singer wore a silver gown and matched the dress with platinum blonde locks, but fans were more interested in another detail that sparked quite the conversation – the singer's skin colour.

Many fans on Twitter were left questioning whether or not the singer had lightened her skin, with one user writing, "Did she bleach her skin[?] She is not this light."

"Why she looks so light (sic)?" another questioned.

"She more white than bleach... WTF," a third said.

"Beyoncé Kardashian," someone else said, referencing the Kardashian/Jenner sisters, who are often slammed for Blackfishing.

"At first glance I thought she was Kim Kardashian," another agreed.

"Who is this white woman?" someone questioned.

Others defended the star, with one user writing, "Ya'll are weird. Clearly the platinum hair & lightening makes her look 1 to 2 shades lighter...other than that her skin tone still looks the same."

"Y’all know it’s the hairstyle chill out y’all only seen Bey in one hair colour and that was brown she switched that sh*t up and ate!" another said. "Literally depending on the hair colour, IT makes your skin brighter and look like you're happy she looks so good and happy!"

"Beyoncé has always been light, the colour of the wig and the dress, not to mention the white lighting that is cranked on 10000 in the pictures all are making her appear lighter, not to mention we lose warmth in our tone throughout winter," a third said.

"Now they could’ve put the exposure and brightness down lol got my sis looking washed out," someone else added.

Some joked that she looked like Emilia Clarke's Game of Thrones character Daenerys Targaryen, while most just thought she looked stunning.
