The Beauty — which has received an 11-episode Season 1 order — is based on the comic book series of the same name by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley. Here’s the description, courtesy of Image Comics:
Modern society is obsessed with outward beauty. What if there was a way to guarantee you could become more and more beautiful every day? What if it was a sexually transmitted disease? In the world of The Beauty, physical perfection is attainable. The vast majority of the population has taken advantage of it, but Detectives Foster and Vaughn will soon discover it comes at a terrible price.
The Beauty is one of 14 series currently on Murphy’s plate. He’s also an EP on ABC’s 9-1-1 and Doctor Odyssey, Fox’s 9-1-1: Lone Star, FX’s American Horror Story, American Crime Story, American Sports Story, Feud and Grotesquerie, Hulu’s American Horror Stories, and Netflix’s Monster and The Watcher.
In addition to The Beauty, Murphy also has FX’s upcoming American Love Story and Hulu’s All’s Fair in the works.
