Beauty and the Geek's George had a 'three-year relationship' pre-show

Beauty and the Geek viewers were left reeling when it was revealed that early fan-favourite 'geek,' George Goldfeder had previously acted in several short films.

Now, news has emerged that George, 27, was in a serious three-year relationship that ended a few months before he began filming the Channel Nine dating show.

Geek's former flame

A source close to the former couple tells Yahoo Lifestyle that George began dating a fellow actor named Chanel Rodway after the pair met as students at Perth-based acting school WAAPA in late 2017.

The long-term couple were living together in Melbourne and had a cat together called Milkshake before George ended things in late 2020.

Filming for Beauty and the Geek is believed to have commenced in Sydney in mid-January this year and lasted for seven weeks.

In the season premiere on July 11, George was introduced as an 'escape room game master' and was paired with his 'beauty,' 25-year-old dental receptionist Leticia Llanos.

According to his bio in the BATG media kit which was shared with Yahoo Lifestyle, George's dating history is 'pretty minimal' however, he says he has had 'serious relationships' in the past.

The bio goes on to state that "anything involving real romance is going to be way out of [George's] comfort zone".

While there doesn't appear to be any photos or references to Chanel on George's social media accounts, a behind-the-scenes snap of the pair on the set of a short film in 2018 was still visible on Chanel's Instagram.

They played a couple hoping to spice up their relationship with roleplay, hence Chanel's red latex mini dress and a bondage-style harness.

George and Chanel also appear in a joint showreel clip that was uploaded to Vimeo three years ago which includes the aforementioned short film.
