Bachelor’s Brooke reveals she’s still open to dating a guy or a girl

The episode revealing her bisexuality was slammed by fans who claimed Channel Ten placed too much emphasis on it in order to get more ratings.

And The Bachelor’s Brooke Blurton has admitted to Yahoo Lifestyle that she feels the advert’s promoting the reveal as “Brooke’s big secret” were “too much.”

“For me, it wasn’t a secret. I was quite honest and open about it and that’s why I told Nick,” she explains.

“I think some people see it as a secret, but for me I was quite comfortable about it. The promos were a little bit too much for how I felt.”

The reality star continues: “It wasn’t a big deal. The other girls in the mansion knew about it as well. I was quite honest in there,” she adds.

Despite being the season favourite, Brooke left Nick – and fans across Australia – devastated when she was shown walking out of the mansion in last night’s episode.

And after seeing her romance with the Honey Badger play out on screens, the 23-year-old admits she is ready to move on with her life.

Though she was shown telling the Honey Badger that she wants to settle down with a man and have babies one day, the youth worker reveals she is still open to finding love with a man or a woman.

“It probably did sound like I was contradicting myself because I was saying I want to be with someone because of their personality but then I was saying I want to be with a guy so I can have babies,” Brooke admits.

“But it generally didn’t play out like that in the way that I wanted or how it is. I know for one that definitely that same-sex relationship can have babies.”

“I have very close friends in a same-sex relationship who just had babies. It’s not how I feel and I’m still open to be with a girl or guy and falling for someone’s personality,” she insists.

While some fans had hoped Brooke and Nick might reunite, the athletic star admits she hasn’t been in touch with him since the show ended.

For now, Brooke is just focused on being back home with her friends and family while she continues to chase her goals.

“I’m back in Perth most definitely and working. That’s pretty much my goal, just to be back doing the things I love,” she explains.

“I’m sort of a ‘go with the flow’ person. I have some goals that I do want to work towards like developing my career a bit more and going back and studying, but enjoying life for what it is.”

The Bachelor finale airs tonight at 7.30pm on Channel Ten.
