Bachelor Jimmy slams Honey Badger: ‘Wouldn’t do that to Australia’

Bachelor Jimmy Nicholson has taken aim at a former star of the franchise, Nick Cummins aka The Honey Badger.

The 31-year-old pilot had a not-so-subtle dig at his predecessor while chatting with SAFM’s Bec, Cosi & Lehmo, saying he’d never copy his tactics.

Jimmy confirmed during the chat that he ended up choosing a contestant at the end of the dating series, unlike the Honey Badger’s infamous finale in season six where he selected no one.

“Obviously I picked one,” he confessed.

“I didn’t do a Honey Badger. I wouldn’t do that to Australia, or myself.”

The Bachelor went on to say that while he enjoyed Nick’s season, the outcome isn’t something he would want to repeat.

“I thought he was hilarious, but yeah, he didn’t do himself any favours,” he added.

Jimmy’s comments about the Honey Badger come shortly after he told Yahoo Lifestyle that he’s had “a heap of support” from other former stars of the franchise.

“I did a podcast with Matty J and Laura [Byrne] and they’re just an amazing couple,” he said. “They were really supportive and they're a lot of fun.

“Sam and Snez [Wood] also sent me a really nice message saying they're loving the show and they're really enjoying it, so it's good to have some support from people that have done it before.”

Jimmy also revealed that he received advice from Locky Gilbert and the show’s first-ever Bachelor Tim Robards before the show started airing.

“I saw Tim at the gym one day,” he explained. “I went up and I said, ‘Sorry to come up to you randomly when you're in the middle of a workout, but I’ve just got that gig you did a few years ago, can I have a confidential chat with you?’ and he said, ’yeah mate, let's go’.

"He gave me some really really good advice. It's really nice to get that support from people that have walked before me because it is a unique situation and there have only been eight other guys that have done it.”

One person who he hasn’t been contacted by, however, is the mysterious Blake Garvey from season two of the reality show.

“Bloody Blake hasn’t hit me up, I’ll have to have a word from him,” he joked.
