The Bachelor's Jay says it wasn't 'love at first sight' with Jimmy

While Jacinta 'Jay' Lal is a front runner to win Jimmy Nicholson's heart on The Bachelor this season, it seems she didn't fall head over heels for him immediately.

The 31-year-old explained she didn't feel it was "love at first sight" when the pair first met, telling The Daily Telegraph, "I have never ever experienced love at first sight."

"I can see an attractive guy and know he is good looking or hot, but it is not until I really get to know the person that I can see whether there will be a future."

Jay, who is currently the fourth favourite to win the show, wouldn't say whether or not she's "in love" with Jimmy now.

"I don't know if I can answer that," she told the publication.

And while she remained coy on whether or not they had found love, Jay did make an impression on Jimmy after their first meeting, with him choosing to give her the key to the 'Business Lounge', a private location where they can escape cocktail parties to spend one-on-one time together.

At the moment, however, Holly Kingston, 27, is the favourite to win according to Sportsbet and TAB.

This could be due to a leak within the production company, or it may even have something to do with the fact Jimmy and Holly share a mutual friend in former Miss Universe contender Francesca Hung.

Interestingly, however, Jimmy recently told Yahoo Lifestyle it wasn't necessarily "love at first sight" for him when he met his chosen lady.

"I don't necessarily believe in love at first sight,” he told us.

"I think lust at first sight exists where you find someone really attractive, and that's really important, but if you're looking at someone who you actually want to end up with as a partner, there are so many other levels you need to be compatible on for it to work.

"I definitely noticed her early on, but towards the end I knew she was the one for me. And since we finished filming and having spent a fair bit of time with her in secret, it’s really confirmed that for me as well.

"I think that's the true test; when you get out, cameras are off and you see what you’re like with each other. She’s amazing and we're both really, really happy."

He added, "I'm really, really happy to say that we are genuinely in love."
