Love Is Blind stars Ashley Adionser and Tyler Francis are calling it quits after marrying on the season 7 finale of the Netflix reality series in November 2023.

"After much reflection, I want to share that Tyler and I have been separated for several weeks and have now made the difficult decision to end our marriage," Adionser told PEOPLE on Tuesday. "While I had hoped for mutual understanding and transparency in our relationship, it has become clear that our paths are no longer aligned, making it impossible for me to continue in this marriage."

"This was not a decision I made lightly," Adionser continued, "but one I know is necessary for my own growth and peace. While this chapter is ending, I will always hold respect for the time and love we shared. I kindly ask for privacy during this deeply personal time as I focus on healing and building a new future. Thank you for your understanding and support."

Aidonser and Francis were one of the first couples to hit it off on the most recent season of Love Is Blind, but their easy harmony was threatened by the revelation that Francis had fathered three children via sperm donations. The couple were able to work past the issue after Francis insisted he had no relationship with any of the children or their mothers.

But their new relationship was tested when, after season 7 hit the air, the mother of one of Francis's children shared pictures and video of her child with his father at Christmas. She also accused Francis of being an absentee father and owing child support.

When the season 7 reunion aired a year later, in October 2024, Francis offered an explanation. "I did help a friend and her wife start a family, but her wife ended up leaving her and left her high and dry," he said. "So I stepped in, voluntarily stepped in and helped, so there are pictures of me around. I've spent holidays with all my friends, all their kids, and I played a part that became very shaky with a friend, and there's no rule books to this... But I do want to let people know, Ashley knows all this. This is news to the world now, but this has never been news to us."

In November, Aidonser revealed on The Viall Files podcast that she's been in contact with the woman who posted the images of Francis and made accusations against him. "I will say she wrote me on Instagram and apologized to me and Tyler," she said, adding that the mother of Francis's child "said she's praying for us and she never meant for it to go this way.... She knows my world is crazy right now, and she never intentionally meant to cause me any pain."
