Ariana Grande Recreated Glinda's Stunning Original 'Wizard of Oz' Pink Ballgown
A wickedly good look.
Ariana Grande looked like she stepped straight out of Oz as she kicked off the Wicked press tour. On Sunday, the pop star attended the film's premiere in Sydney, Australia while channeling her character Glinda the Good Witch in what might be her most Glinda look so far.
For the occasion, Grande wore a blush pink Vivienne Westwood Couture ballgown with sheer puffy sleeves, a corseted bodice adorned with pink rhinestones in the shape of starbursts, and a voluminous skirt with layers of tulle fabric. Grande's gown looked exactly like the dress actress Billie Burke, who also played Glinda, wore in the original 1939 Wizard of Oz movie.
She accessorized with a giant diamond butterfly choker necklace by Lorraine Schwartz (another nod to the original Glinda), a matching ring on her index finger, and diamond drop earrings. All that was missing was Glinda's bejeweled crown and star-shaped wand.
Beauty-wise, Grande pulled her blonde hair back into a half-up, half-down style with a single face-framing curl on one side and added a glossy pink lip with subtle shimmer and dusty pink eyeshadow to her princess glam.
Grande was joined on the "yellow brick road" red carpet by her co-star Cynthia Erivo, who also leaned into her character Elphaba's witchy fashion. For her part, she wore a strapless black gown with a sculptural silhouette and exaggerated hips from Louis Vuitton. A thick black choker with a diamond lion pendant in the center and a gorgeous green manicure that nodded to her role rounded out her look.
Wicked, the first of the story’s two-part film adaptation, opens in theaters on Nov. 22.
