Anya Taylor-Joy Channels Old Hollywood Glamour in Archival Dior Slipdress for Golden Globes 2025 Red Carpet

Anya Taylor-Joy put a sultry spin on old Hollywood glamour at the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday in Los Angeles. The actress won her first Golden Globe in 2021 for her role in Netflix’s hit miniseries “The Queen’s Gambit.”

The “Furiosa” star modeled a pink backless Dior slipdress featuring a cowl neckline, which was plucked from the French fashion house’s archives. She added on an embroidered fringe shawl, completing her look with Jimmy Choo sandals and a floral statement necklace and matching bracelet encrusted with diamonds and opals.

Taylor-Joy’s dress was from John Galliano’s spring 1998 collection for Christian Dior. The dress was purchased from the fashion house Ooto London.

Taylor-Joy was named a Dior ambassador in 2021. “I love history, so I feel so lucky to be working with a brand where that history is so rich,” she says, adding that she’s gotten to spend quite a bit of time in both the Dior couture and perfume archives. “I’ve read many books on Mr. Dior and how the New Look revolutionized the way the world saw clothes…the silhouette really represented a new era,” the actress previously told WWD.

Taylor-Joy is part of the star-studded lineup of presenters at the 2025 Golden Globes, including Gal Gadot, Melissa McCarthy and Salma Hayek, among others.

The actress often collaborates with stylist Ryan Hastings, hairstylist Gregory Russell and Georgie Eisdell on her red carpet looks. “We’re all so close, and we’re just like, ‘Have you seen this?’ Or ‘Maybe this can work?’ Sometimes it’s a year in advance we’ll find something and go, ‘This is perfect,’ and then we just start,” Taylor-Joy said during an interview for the WWD Weekend September issue.

The 2025 Golden Globes ceremony celebrates over eight decades of honoring entertainment excellence. Broadcast on CBS and hosted by Nikki Glaser, this year’s event featured 27 categories, including drama, comedy and limited series.
