If you needed any further proof that Anne Hathaway was all in for Princess Diaries 3, look no further than her recent red carpet appearance in Shanghai, China. The actress, who stepped out for a Bvlgari event last night on Wednesday, January 8, looked absolutely dazzling in a strapless gold gown from Oscar de la Renta. Oh, and the cherry on top? Her yellow gold Bvlgari Serpenti necklace, which contains a whopping number of gemstones including 12 rubellite beads, 14 pear shape tanzanites, 4 pear shape rubellites, 41 step cut diamonds, and pavé-set diamonds. She also added matching Bvlgari earrings and a $7,350 handbag, also from the designer.

Of course, Hathaway's accessories were merely the supporting act for her absolutely stunning gold ballgown, which sparkled and shimmered under the camera lights. The strapless number featured a stiff, sculpted silhouette with an ankle-length A-line skirt that floated above Hathaway's matching peep-toe pumps. She finished off the look with a princess-worthy up-do and light, pink-toned makeup.

Though no release date has been set for Princess Diaries 3, Hathaway did confirm her return back in October when Disney announced the rehabilitation of the franchise. So far, she is the only original cast member to comment on the sequel. Last April, Hathaway told V Magazine that "we’re in a good place" with regard to the film's progress. "That’s all I can say," she continued. "There’s nothing to announce yet. But we’re in a good place."

Along with Hathaway, Adele Lim (of Crazy Rich Asians and Joy Ride fame) has signed on to direct. Lim follows in the footsteps of original Princess Diaries director Garry Marshall, who passed away in 2016.

“As a diehard fan of the original Princess Diaries, I’m beyond excited to be a part of bringing the third iteration of this beloved franchise to life,” Lim said in a statement. “We look forward to celebrating its core tenants of female power, joy and mentorship with audiences worldwide.”
